In 3D concrete printing, a computer-controlled print head deposits a special concrete mix layer by layer, following a digital model. This creates walls and elements without formwork, in free, often organic shapes.
Benefits
No formwork means less material and labour, and the freedom of form allows slender, material-efficient structures. Small series and complex geometry become affordable too.
In practice
The technology is still developing: reinforcement, watertightness and regulation need attention. For specific applications it is already a serious alternative.
