Reversible building — with connections you can take apart again — enables the reuse of elements. A material passport records which materials are in a building, so they can be traced and reused later.
Concrete and secondary raw materials
Concrete is a large material stream by volume. Reusing granulate from demolition concrete and optimising binders can deliver environmental gains. The challenge is to balance quality, cost and availability — something the sector is experimenting with intensively.
