Drones and 3D scanning on the building site

Drones and 3D laser scanners quickly turn the site into an accurate digital image: a point cloud or orthophoto with which you reliably determine distances, volumes and heights.

Applications

Progress reporting with weekly aerial images, earthwork volume calculations, surveying existing buildings before a renovation, and comparing the built work with the BIM model (scan-to-BIM) to spot deviations early.

Points to watch

Drone flights are regulated (registration, no-fly zones, privacy). The data only becomes valuable once someone processes and links it to your model or planning — account for that time.
