What are building material densities used for?
The density tells you how much a cubic metre of a material weighs. You use it to calculate weight (volume × density), plan transport and lifting, and estimate loads on a structure. Values are in kg/m³ and g/cm³ (1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³). These are nominal guide values; real weight depends on moisture, composition and compaction.

How much does a m³ of concrete weigh?
Reinforced concrete is about 2,400 kg/m³, plain concrete around 2,300 kg/m³ — so roughly 2.4 tonnes per m³.
Difference between kg/m³ and g/cm³?
Same quantity, different unit: 1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³.
Why does real weight differ?
Moisture, air content and compaction all affect density; wet sand weighs more than dry.
